Rev. Aaron Roberts is the Senior Pastor of Colonial Church. He grew up in North Dakota and earned his B.A. at the University of Minnesota studying Latin, Greek, and Chemistry. He worked as a Director of Information Technology for a tech startup company, and then earned his Master of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

Aaron also studied theology in India and southeast Asia and traveled to Israel, Jordan, and Rus iassia as part of the Russian Farm Community Project. He previously served Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Fargo, North Dakota. Aaron participates in various community organizations such as Kansas Interfaith Action and Scouting BSA. He is married and the father of two. He practices Tai Chi and loves to camp and bicycle and fish when he gets a chance. Contact Aaron.

Rev. Michael Vollbrecht is the Associate Pastor of Colonial Church. He grew up in Seattle, Washington and has called the Kansas City area his home for over ten years. Prior to ministry, he completed an undergraduate degree in management and worked in business for 15 years.

Michael earned his Master of Divinity from Central Seminary in Shawnee, Kansas, and a Certificate in Justice Ministry in collaboration with Auburn Seminary in New York City. He is a meditation teacher and spiritual director rooted in the contemplative tradition and focused on wellness in mind, body, heart, and spirit. Michael loves movies and games of all kinds and lives near the University of Kansas with his partner Matt and their dog, a husky-lab mix named Karma. Contact Michael.
