Rev. Aaron Roberts is the new pastor of Colonial Church. He grew up in North Dakota and earned his B.A. at the University of Minnesota studying Latin and Greek and his Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

Aaron has studied in India and traveled to Russia as part of the Russian Farm Community Project. He previously served Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Fargo, ND. He is married and the father of two. He loves to camp and bicycle and fish when he gets a chance.

Kirk Carson

Kirk is a conductor, arranger, singer, and teacher of music. He joined the Prairie Village Colonial staff in July 2007. Kirk's academic musical background includes a Bachelor of Music and Masters of Performing Arts degree from Oklahoma City University, as well as post-graduate study at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. He has directed church choirs in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Texas before moving to Kansas City. He also conducts opera and musical theater productions for professional and community theatres as well as academic productions.

Kirk's background in sacred music, opera, musical theater, and jazz makes for a highly diversified music program at Colonial. The choir has performed many different genres of music and continues to try new areas of the musical spectrum. Kirk is the conductor for the Arts in Prison, East Hill Singers, an all-male choral group of volunteer singers and a choir made up of inmates from the Lansing Correctional Facility. Kirk is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).

Children's Choir and Bell Choir Director: Hayden Huggins, (hayden@colonialucc.org)

Hayden has been the director of the children's choir at Colonial since 2006. She is also a member of the Colonial adult choir and bell choir and has sung in various choirs throughout her schooling. While at Kansas State University, Hayden was a member of the marching band. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in music and has a Master's degree from Pittsburg State in Educational Technology. She is a sixth grade teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District.

Organist: Heather Paisar

Heather is in graduate PhD study in Musicology and MNA study in Organ Performance at the University of Kansas. She has a M.S.M. in Organ from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, and a B.M. in Church Music, Magna Cum Laude, at Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN.
